Winterizing X17Z
I just attempted to winterizre my Jayco X17Z for the second time. I drained the hot water heater and setup the hot water heater bypass. I switched the valve on the pump to for the antifreeze and everything worked as expected when I turned on the faucets except I could not get any antifreeze to come through when just the hot water was turned on(the antifreeze came through the cold water valve). Does anyone know is this what I should expect? Or did I setup my hot water heater bypass incorrectly?

Sounds like your bypass is set incorrectly.
With the bypass in the correct position, the fluid should bypass the HW tank and then come out the hot water faucets.
To verify, pull the plug on your HW tank and see if pink stuff comes out :-)
Best regards,
Doug

X2, sounds like one or more of the three valves are not in the correct position. If the valve handle it turned to cross the pipe, the valve it is closed and if the handle is in line with the pipe the valve is open. Ensure the two handles going to and from the HW heater is closed (crosswise to the pipe) and the bypass valve is in line with the pipe.
Also make sure both low point drain valves are closed too.

How do you open the low point drains on the 17Z? I just see two tubes coming out the bottom of the camper. Thanks.

Winterizing X17Z
My low point drain valves are in the cut-out under the bathroom sink. That are tiny plunger valves. Down is closed, up is open.

Just finished mine this afternoon. I'm just going to put a thing of Damp Rid in there.
Last thing I want to do is cover the AC - eh ... exactly how do I go about doing that? It's pretty much in the middle of the trailer? Are we supposed to stand on these? Or do I sorta have to shimmy up there on my belly, but that would be the same weight. ????

You can walk on the roof, I've done it many times.

Damp rid is a product that takes humidity out of the air. The kit I have contains white crystals that are suspended in a screen type basket and the water is collected at the bottom. I bought the kit at the rv dealer but then found out I can buy the crystals separately at home depot cheaper. It actually works quite well.

I walked on the roof my 17Z many times. It will take your weight. "Wear soft shoes and be careful" was the advice I was given. About the A/C cover - a representative from Airxcel told me if the cover doesn't breathe properly, it will cause damage. I never covered mine and never had any problems.
