X17z a Little Extra Storage

Hello,

New member and have found lots of good info here, so thanks all! We've had our X17z about a year now and are really enjoying it.

Wanted to share an easy addition for those of us with limited storage. My wife found it on an Australian trailering site of all places. (She's big on research).
For lighter things, use a fabric shoe holder(or two) over the bathroom door. We've used one on each side for the respective rooms. She then took some parachute straps from the local fabric store, removed the metal hooks and strung it over the door. A clip-on strap or two at the bottom and there's a convenient place for kitchen utensils, cloths tool, bathroom supplies etc.
The straps are flat, so they don't cause issues with the door.

We use a similar storage hanger that we bought from Amazon, but that idea of using the parachute straps is great.

Btw, how do you like your F-150 with your trailer? We're looking to upgrade so I'm looking at trucks now. I'm actually pulling with an Escape and it's pretty top of what I can do.

Thumbs up with the F150 or other pickup truck as a TV; besides, the truck will have so many other uses for around the house gathering plants, bags, and other large materiaks. The bed of the truck makes for hauling the extra camping stuff you'll end up bringing along as well. Add a cover, and they are protected from the elements.

Warning though: Once a truck owner, its hard to leave that!

We have a 2008 Jayco 17c ex-port Gross 3,500 single axle. Except for model year and interior layout, reads like you have same. We tow with 2002 Dodge Dakota SLX with crew cab and 5'5" bed and factory tow package rated for 5,050 lbs, but it is a gas engine so weight and drag know milage from 18.5 Interstate to 8 at same speed. My plan is to find a mid-sized truck like the Dakota with a diesel engine.

I had a Ford 150 for everyday use and did not appreciate it as much as I do the Dakota because the turning radius is 5' greater (roughly 41 v 46) and it was tough for in town, every day use.
