X17Z Kitchen Drawer Mod - anyone try this?

I really miss not having a drawer in the kitchen for the silverware and cooking utensils. We started looking at the way the sink area was configured and it looks like we could move the electric outlet on the left under the counter to the right. This would put it in front of the sink and give us room to install a drawer. Anyone try this mod yet?

Do you have room to slide a drawer in there, or will the sink be in the way? I have a 19H and my wife wanted a different faucet, so I took out the panels in front of the sink near the outlet to look in there, and the sink comes pretty far down.

I have the 17A and we have a drawer under the fridge. I wouldn't have room under the sink to slide a drawer in, unless it was very very narrow.

It looks like we will be able to fit a narrow (8" wide or so) shelf in. We are looking for it to ge next to the sink, not under, so I think there should be room. We still have to get some preliminary measurements and figure out the details. I was just wondering if anyone else had attempted this.

I have a metal shelf on the left hand upper shelf, under the sink. A silverware tray fits on top of the shelf, and slides in and out to get the utensels. Under the shelf I have a plastic bin that I put the cooking utensels in. It also slides in and out.

I wanted drawers also so picked up a plastic container with 3 drawers from walmart and used sticky back velcro to attach it inside the cabinet under the stove (no oven) bottom drawer has eating utensils, middle can opener, etc. top is my junk drawer (pens, tape, etc) works great for me.
