x23B dinnette padding

I am looking at adding some padding underneath the dinnette cushions. I would like something a little firmer that won't "bottom out" when sitting on it. Has anyone done this or does anyone have a suggestion for padding type and thickness?

Thanks everyone for the help!

Welcome to the forum.

Foam comes in various densities. But, depending upon where you live, it can be difficult to find pieces you can get your hands on to try the 'Charmin' test - as in 'Please don't squeeze the Charmin.'

Most foams may be too soft (low density) for what you have in mind. You should be able to find pre-made cushions for gardening etc. that have a higher density in Walmart or other stores. You might be able to slide those in place to try to determine what density will work for you.

Of course, there could be someone on this site that made the same change you are planning and already knows what worked. Good luck.

Be carful of the "memory foam". My son used to work at a furniture store, and brought home a couple of them he got from a salesperson that was giving them away (some sort of promotional thing).
I put one of them in our travel trailer to use. It sat in the trailer while in storage during some cold weather. That memory foam turns rock hard when cold!!! It will quickly soften up when it reaches room temps, but be aware that it gets hard when subjected to cold temps.
