X23B vs X23F

We own a 2015 X23B hybrid. Love it!

Anyway, I have a question. While on the Jayco website, I see the X23B has an unloaded weight of 4225 lb with a GVWR of 4950 lb. Totally what I expected to see.

However, I see the X23F, which appears to have the same frame, tires, etc, has an unloaded weight of 4400 lb with a GVWR of 5995 lb.

Does anyone know why this is such a big difference with very similar models?

I would expect it has to do w/ the axle rating on the trailers as a function of load - tongue weight of the trailer. The X23B is probably more comfortably under the axle rating, whereas the extra 175lbs of the X23F (and perhaps other factors such as water heater placement, etc.) push that particular trailer too close to the axle rating on the X23B, necessitating the next size up from Dexter (assuming Dexter is still the axle manufacturer).

Just my guess. If you have a local dealer, crawl under there and see what the stickers on the axles say.
