2015 Jayco 27.5 HT
Hi,
First time on this forum, and need some advice.
I am dealing on a 2015 27.5 HT, and I have a couple of questions from you Jayco owners.
I have a 2013 GMC 2500 HD, 4wd, 18" tires, 6 1/2' bed, extended cab, with a Duramax and Allison. I have a slider hitch installed for the SunnyBook 5th wheel I now have. My question is, with the height of my truck, will I have to have the trailer raised to be able to tow level? The dealer doesn't have a 27.5 HT on his lot for me to judge by, and the one I want will not be built until the middle of June.
Thank You in advance for your replies,
Jerry,

2015 Jayco 27.5 HT
Some specs on fifth wheels list the pin height. It may be a good start. Hopefully someone with one can make a measurement.
My old rig was a Sunnybrook and I did not need to make any adjustments in pin height. Seems like it is 43 inches. My truck has 18 in. tires.

I have a 14 ram 3500 srw and looked hard at the 29bhds ht. dealer let me back under it and the truck hardly settled at all. I had about 5-6 in he's bed clearance but the nose was high and there wasn't much (aside from lowering my new truck or modifying the trailer frame). It likely would have worked but when I backed under a much bigger and heavier rig with 16 inch tires, it had much better clearance and was level. The top of my bed on the truck is about 59 1/2 in he's high to give u a reference point

Jerry, it is probably too late, but I had the same concern when ordering our 2013 HT27.5, since I had seen some that were way too low for my 2006 Chevy 2500. Therefore, I made that concern known to the dealership and provided the bed height of my truck. It came in at the perfect height. Hope yours did too.

I no longer have the 27.5BHS to measure but I can tell you, it always rode a little nose-high on both my F250 and my F350. Travel wise, it was never a problem and the trailer pulled great. Others on the forum here have had similar concerns and some have modified their rigs to raise the trailer.

We are pulling ours with a 15 F250 and have no problems at all. it's less than half a bubble out of level when hooked up. However, our 250 is not 4wd, and may sit a bit lower. I think the 15 HT's have adjustment built into them. Ours does not.
