Thanks

The wait is killing me, but worth it. I have to hurry up and put 1000 miles on it before I'm supposed to tow anything. My camper is getting lonely.

I wouldn't (didn't) worry too much about that if you want to get out camping. We only got 400kms or so on our F250 before towing with it. No problems to date. In the reading I did leading up to that the breakin was more designed to set the ring and pinion gear in the rear diff. Polish it up before towing anything major.

I can guarantee there are thousands and thousands of fleet and commercial vehicles that don't get broken in before towing. But it can't hurt to wait if you have the time.

Cheers

Received a letter from Ford that the parts were in for the parking brake recall. Took the beast to our dealer today and had them install the bracket in the transmission. They dropped the pan, put the bracket in and replaced the transmission fluid. Didn't take that long but glad to have it back.

Awesome. That didn't really take too long. I have the TSB for the recall up on my monitor, looks like Ford corporate is allocating about 1.5 hours for the recall work. It actually states in the TSB to 'reuse' the existing transmission fluid but it looks like most dealers are ignoring this and installing fresh juice.

My new truck is parked about 10 minutes from my house right now, there's a rail depot on the south side of town that serves Colorado, and most of the states immediately surrounding us. It has been sitting in that parking lot, unloaded from the train since Friday. I hope to take delivery tomorrow or Wednesday. I don't have OCD (yet) but this wait is seriously making me reconsider if I do or not.

The other forums I'm on, looks like most people impacted by that recall are either already fixed, or will be within a couple weeks. Parts are definitely in stock now.

That's great news on your truck! Hopefully you can get hands on in the next day or so. Hope you enjoy it. We love ours!
