Got our recall info yesterday. Was fortunate in that our key number was not listed. Will verify not being able to twist the key to the 9 o'clock position when I get the trailer out of storage this spring.

Quite interesting timing, by chance yesterday I found the recall notice online in two places dated August and September of 2013. I am surprised it took this long to send out notifications.

I have a Bauer lock, so I did not look very close at the numbers. Can someone post the key numbers that are affected? I wonder if I will get a notice in a few days??

No problem Ja....

The key numbers are: HF-304, HF-307, HF-308, HF-309, HF-311, HF-313, HF-315, HF-316, HF-320, HF-322, HF-323, HF-331, HF-335, HF-336, HF-339, HF-342, HF-343, HF-347 and HF-349.

In my case, my key is a Bauer key with the oval shape. But the number is 342 without the HF, like Don (Mustang65) stated. Just to make sure, I'll check the lock on the TT.

We have the Bauer locks and keys, the key number on one of our doors matches the recall minus the HF but the key will not pull out at the 9 o'clock position. Guess we are good to go.

Received the recall as well. I also have the Bauer lock. The key number matches the recall (311) but without the HF.

I got my notice yesterday. None of my three different keys are on the list. I found the notice on line the other day while looking at the Global Link lock sets to have matching keys for every lockset.

Threebutchers, if you read down at the bottom of the notice it does state if you already replaced your lock(s) they will reimburse you. You just have to contact them.

Finally got my notice yesterday as well. However, I had gone out to the FW and checked the lock about two weeks ago when this thread started up. My key wasn't on the notice and, when checking, the lock worked fine, couldn't pull it out at the 9 o'clock setting. Saw nothing on the notice that told me to respond to them, unless I had a problem.

I noticed the screen door latch in your picture. Did that come standard with your rv or was that an aftermarket item...I like it.

Has anyone established for sure whether or not Bauer locks are part of this recall?

I looked at my Bauer lock today. My key only comes out at the 12 position. It moves to the 3 & 9 position but you can not remove key at these positions. It locks in one and unlocks in the other. So I see no problem with my particular Bauer lock.

I also tried mine this afternoon in my Bauer lock. The key would not come out in the 3 or 9 position so I`m good......

I went out and took a video on my Smartphone of the key coming out in the 9 o'clock position, in case they want to see it actually happening. The back door lock is fine...

Got my recall notice today, but it's going to be another 10 days before I officially de-winterize. Gotta admit after not even seeing my camper since 11/2/13 I'm sorta hoping that I DO get locked inside so I can call into work with a legit, "I'm stuck and won't make it in today." LOL

Previous owner handed me the recall notice at church this morning. Ours is affected. So, I went to the website and ordered our replacement. Now to see how long it takes for it to come in. The instructional video on the website was good, looks like a really simple operation to swap them out.

Recall notice arrived while we were in Big Bend last week. Checked our locks, they are Bauer, and key will not come out in anything except the 12 o'clock position. I presume we're good to ignore this particular recall!

Nothing to check. The recall notice clearly states the brand/model of lock and what to look for on both the key, and what to check for on the lock itself. Bauer locks are not part of the recall.

However, I was surprised that I even opened the envelope. Even tho it said Recall Notice. I usually do not open anything sent "Presort Standard" as that is how junk mail is sent. If a recall is deemed necessary it should not be sent as junk mail.
I worked in the direct mail advertising industry for 15 years, into the late 90s. "Presort" is for any commercial bulk mail, which of course includes junk mail, but its not exclusive to junk mail. Before the days of online bill paying, bulk mail rates were commonly used by any business that needed to send out large numbers of letters/bills that would benefit from the bulk rate discount. You just don't see it used for much more than junk mail these days.

If I'm not mistaken, the return address field said Jayco in nice big letters too.
