We bought our 23BHM last weekend and are picking it up this Saturday. I called our CW about something else and while on the phone inquired about the recall, and he said they had performed it on all units in their inventory.

Scott, please let me know what the difference is between the old lights and the new replacements. Pictures would also be great. I'm a bit suspicious about keeping the older style because of the heat issue EVEN if Jayco tells me mine are not in the recall. The ones I have in my new rig look EXACTLY like the defective ones!

Dropped off Sat and received a call late Monday the camper is ready to be picked up. Was not expecting it that fast after being told it should be ready by this upcoming Sat.

Very easy to tell all lights changed, these give off a different light and look totally different when on. I'm a happy

Jayco recalls 13,000 travel trailers for LED lights

So I've read a few of the previous pages. Looks like people have reported having the recall done but the new leds are not the same.... has anyone questioned why some now have a metal housing and some don't? One pic of new lights shows plastic housing and 9 leds while another shows metal housing with 12 leds?

My same thoughts.

Maybe they are replacing them with any LED's that Command Electronics has in stock that won't burn down your RV.

What is sad, this is an electronics company, how could they design, prototype, test, and then go into production and not realize there was a huge problem?

At least they are taking care of it so that is good!

Good point. And yes I agree that at least they are taking care of it. I need to call and see if my 2017 is included in the recall...

After speaking with Jayco customer service a few months ago I'm pretty sure this is the reason. I got the feeling that Jayco's supply of replacement lights might not keep up with the demand at times.

Called them (Jayco) Friday & gave vin #, not on recall list. Funny though that these lights do get VERY warm. I shut them at times to keep heat out of unit in the hot summer days. I guess the recall where getting hotter than mine or my unit will burst into flames one day?

Recalled lights ???

http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/at...1&d=1504452829

My Whitehawk shows a sticker date of 2/17. the photo shows my lights. typical unit. This shows what appears to be a heat shield (silver ring) beneath the bulbs. Pictures elsewhere in this thread did not show that ring. I assume this is not the recalled light although it is very close to the other pictures with the exception of the ring.

I would not want to assume anything, email Jayco and include your VIN they will tell you if you need replacements.

Thanks again for the referral. I picked up my TT 2 days ago from them & all warranty work was completed. They did a great job & are very customer oriented. They encountered trouble with Jayco also with the "authorized Jayco repair" designation. They got it fixed after a week so they are back on track to do repairs via warranty. Something is going on over at Jayco?
