There is a recall on many LED fixtures in Jayco products. I am moving this thread over to that original thread. It is a pretty widespread safety issue.

Read up on it here: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...hts-46360.html

Got my LED lamps replaced last week. Dealer said I needed to leave it, and that was not a problem as I won't need the trailer till my next NASCAR race weekend. Took a week, and all is good. I now have the 9 LED pucks, and way cooler to the touch. When I first got the trailer I questioned the hot lamps, and now I am glad its right.

Is there anyway to determine the production date of a trailer? I just got a new 2017 J feather And the rv place didn't mention anything about a recall.

Based on my production date, my trailer is on the list. Jayco is closed at this time. I also left a message at the RV place. You would think that the RV place would of taken care of this before I drove the trailer off the lot on Friday. If they didn't I might flip my lid. It's 2 hours away.

Based on some of the pics in this thread, it appears I have the old lights with the 6 LEDs.

I don't think everyone is on the same page. I printed out the recall and showed it to my sales person and he knew nothing about. The service dept. was aware of it, yet they prepped my 2017 Whitehawk and let me drive off with it. It seemed like they never read the entire bulletin. Jayco should have made the part where they say, fix before allowing it off the lot the main header at the top.

Yes I got the recall for the led lights about two months ago and now have an appointment for Monday August 7 to have them all replaced for free. I did have to call them ahead of time so they could order the right amount for my rig.

Yep my rig was on the recall. I called the rv dealer very annoyed that I only brought the trailer home last Friday and they didn't mention the recall. Thank God for this site!!!

The RV dealer was extremely apologetic and is actually going to come to my house (70 Millie's away) and replace them for me. Now that's service!!!!!

I would like to know who will be doing the repair work on my trailer. Camping world stopped warranty work on all Jayco products a few months ago because Jayco was slow &/or not paying the dealerships for work preformed. My local Jayco dealer in Orlando refuses to do warranty work unless you bought the unit from them which to me is tantamount to blackmail.

Purchased our Jay Flight SLX 245RLSW in May this year. Did notice the first time out that I thought the lights were pretty warm to the touch, not hot but warm. Just received my reply from Jayco that our rig is not part of the recall, but when I checked they look the same (six LEDs) as the ones people here are posting are the recalled lights. Hmmmmm so what to do.

There's no part numbers on the lights that I can find. Will double check. Have already replaced three of the lights with different units. Wanted reading lights over the bed and a dimable light over the sofa. Waiting for an indirect chandelier light over the bump-out dining area to arrive.

We prefer a much more subdued lighting than the blazing daylight put out by the factory lights, so that's why we changed these out.

So my question is.....which are the safe lights to have? The plastic housed six LED's or the metal base 9+ LED's?

I was told they were by my local CW. I hope it was just that one. I'm thinking legal action if I can't get warranty work done.

Called other CW in Central Florida area & they are not doing warranty work on Jayco product. Called Lazydays in Tampa & same. Since Local Jayco dealer isn't doing warranty work unless you bought from them than I think legal action against Jayco is appropriate at this point. This sucks!

RV dealers are independent not franchised like car dealers.

Contact "Camping Connection" they work with JAYCO.

there is only one manufacturer of that light. Two melted in the bathroom so I replaced because our trip was days away. $18 each but didn't look to see if they were the new 9 LED version. At CW now for warranty along with other items for two weeks.
