2017 Recall Jayco Jay Flight

The wife and I drove 50 miles to the dealer today to pickup our '17 Jay Flight 265RLSW. We did our inspection and orientation, but we couldn't take it home! A recall was issued by Jayco this morning and they stated in the email to the dealer that none of the effected units could leave the lot. The interior LED lights could potentially overheat and be a fire hazard. Hopefully we can pick up midweek if they can swap all 18 interior lights

Is this something affecting all 2017's? I've already had 2 led lights go bad where the switch in the center quit working.

I'm curious about this as well. I've had a few instances where I've had to push the button and few times to get it work.

I do not believe so, the list of trailers shown in the email to the dealer was very, very long, but they contacted the dealer to get authorization to swap out the lights with ones from a unit not shown on the list. Jayco did not redone by the time we wrapped up, that's why we have to come back to pick up.

Awesome news. Thanks for sharing. First night out in our brand new Jay Feather and the bathroom light overheated and stopped working. Good to know that these will be taken care of.

so, until they get the fix going, do not leave interior lights on for extended periods of time....guess best thing to do is bring a table lamp if need to have lights on if you are away

Jayco Recall

I just read on the news that Jayco is recalling 13,000 2017 travel trailers because the LED light cause excessive heat and there is the possibility of fire. They don't say fire but use a bunch of words that otherwise mean fire.

Saw that press release yesterday. It said that they will have the repair parts available in June. No word as to whether it is just the Jayco lines, or if it includes their other names, like my North Point. As I recall, it said that there was some 35,000 units impacted!!!

The only numbers that matter to me are 0 and 4. 0 = the number of times I've used my 2017 Jayflight. 4 = the number of warranty repairs this will now make.

Should have stuck with tent camping.
