Angry Recall "notice" question

Ok, I got a question, maybe a dumb question, but, a question non the less....
I have a 1998 Jayco Eagle 12UDK (popup), I have looked up recall notices on this site thru a link, thank you by the way,

1st, since I am NOT the original owner, how do I know if the recalls have been addressed???? I bought the camper from a "Jayco" dealer, would they have addressed these issues when they took the unit in on trade??

2nd, if they have NOT been addressed, how long do I have to get these items addressed?? I mean the unit IS 15years old, and the recalls are just about as old...

ANY input on this topic would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

and, THANK YOU in advance...

You could email Jayco with your VIN and question just to be sure.

X2... others here have contacted Jayco direct with the VIN to learn more about the history of their rv and what/what has not been addressed.

My Greyhawk 2008 31SS just had a recall for an electrical switch. Jayco sent me a letter and a card. I took the letter to the dealer , which he sent to Jayco so he could ordered the part. Once the job was done, I filled out the card and sent it back to Jayco. I assume they enter the info into their records. So if you call Jayco, they should be able to help you. I must say though, I do not remember writing down my vin #, but it may have already been on the card.

Federal government recall databases are accessible at
USA - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
http://www.nhtsa.gov/Vehicle+Safety/Recalls+&+Defects
Canada - Transport Canada:
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehicle...s-index-76.htm

My thoughts... If the recalled item is still functioning after 15 years, then it still is ok, don't worry about it
