12VDC Accessory Outlet issue
I am one the takes the 120VAC outlet checker and checked each outlet on the new 2013 Eagle BHS, when we picked it up. They were all wired as should be. I never took my volt meter to check the 12DC accessory outlet above the kitchen sink to make sure it was wired in. We just picked up the new camper, and stayed over night near the mfg plant in Indiana. My wife said I should plug in the 12VDC Coleman Cooler/Heater for our drinks in the truck. About an hour later I decided to check to see if the cooler was getting colder and to my surprise it was really toasty warm on the inside. After making sure that I had the low voltage cord set the correct way for cooling, I decided to check the polarity of the 12VDC outlet. You got it, the outlet was wired in reverse of the way it was supposed to be. Good thing I did not plug in any of the sensitive electrical devices (phones, mp3 (yes mp3)....) or they may have been toasted. Took the cover off to get to the inside of the outlet and the red wire was connected to the ground side of the outlet. So..... you may want to check out your 12VDC outlets prior to using them.
