2016 23MBH Thermal Package Underbelly NOT heated

I was cleaning all the construction debris under and around cabinets tonight. Followed all of my ducting back to the furnace and not one of them has a tee going through the subfloor. I also found that there is ZERO insulation behind the black tank which just happens to be right underneath my bunks and water heater. So much for a heated and insulated underbelly.

I would suggest you go back to the dealer and ask him to rectify the situation. You paid for the heated underbelly and insulation, you should have it. Is there possibly another outlet from the furnace that puts warm air into the underbelly?

Wow! I think I need to check mine now. They're not using heating pads on the tanks now are they?

I don't think that package includes insulation. I have the Glacier Package and it doesn't have insulation. It does have the belly cover. I think it's ducted heat to the tanks. I THINK..

Not that I can see. However, embarrassingly I did find the insulation. The heat duct is definitely not there.

Call Jayco and they will authorize dealer to fix it/add it. Same thing happened to me.

Isn't your heat duct UNDER the subfloor? And hence, by it's location, it will heat your belly?

No, on the 23MBH all the ducts are 4" foil above floor. I would have much preferred in floor vents.

I've emailed them with photos. I just want them to send me the parts and I will install it; my dealer isn't all that great.

Mine is the same way. I have thermo pkg. but no duct going to underbelly. I did call jayco they told me the plenum is open to the underbelly. I did not verify it but thought it was possible as it is against the floor only two ducts foil wrapped going the the front of couch and bedroom. The furnace is under the couch.

On my Eagle there is a duct that feeds in the front storage compartment. It is mounted right in the rectangle shaped duct.
This area is open to the tanks and underbelly.

My furnace sits up off of the floor about 3". There is nothing coming out the bottom nor are there any openings in the floor. Still waiting on a response from them.

I'll bet if I really looked, mine is not ducted either. What a joke Jayco is pulling.

On my 2014 the under floor duct is a 90 right out of the furnace straight down through the floor. I had to take the front cover off to see it and it comes out of the left side of the furnace.
The only "insulation" mine has underneath is at least 2 cans of spray foam haphazardly sprayed around the sewer pipes where they come through the coraplex underbelly. No tank heaters or anything else, I have the "Glacier Package" sticker by the front entry door as well. Pretty much should just say "Spray Foam Package" as far as I'm concerned....
As I recall the Glacier Package literature just said heated and enclosed underbelly so they should make it right with you in that regard. If you can get tank heaters out of them let me know, I'd like some too.

I figured out the insulation is wrapped in the water resistant barrier right underneath the subfloor. I wasn't used to seeing it done this way so I missed it at first. If you simply peel back the corrugated plastic underbelly you won't see it.

So I took my trailer in yesterday to have the duct to the underbelly installed. Low and behold my original assumption was correct. The dealer called and said Jayco did not install ANY of the thermal package I paid for. They are working out the details with Jayco but it sounds like they will need my trailer for about 3 days in order to remain everything on the underside of the chassis. I almost would rather have Jayco refund me the money for the thermal package then have my trailer tore apart.....

That is what I would do then go with thermal pads on the tanks and heat traces on the plumbing. Much better solution IMO.

IIRC, the Thermal Package isn't just in the floor; some is also in the ceiling. Are they going to install that, too?

On my new Pinnacle the only thing I noticed was a small round opening in the cargo area. I have a space for a tank heater switch but no switch. Was told it wasn't needed and you had to order it extra. There wasn't an option to choose it when I ordered mine or I would have. I don't have much confidence in the thermal package by looking past the access panel in the cargo area. Also when I open the cabinet on my rear entertainment center I can feel the cold air coming out. My bet is the rear cap is missing insulation. Come summer I might look into dismantling that cabinet and fixing it myself.
