2016 28 BHBE rear stabilizer jack replacement

Our awning side rear stabilizer jack is broken already... The weld which holds the washers in place for the screw to load against broke. Our dealer should replace it for free, but any recommendations for high quality replacements? Our dealer is 60 miles away and may not get to them prior to going on a week long trip. These are manual type scissor jacks, not electric.

Personally I would try my luck with anything I could get my hands on quickly to make your trip work. There are options on amazon prime to get you a jack in a couple days. I would say your issue is a freak deal with most jacks operating for a longer period of time without malfunction.

Most manual jacks seem to pretty much offer the same thing. In the end there is only so much help they can offer.

I have picked up a couple "universal rv stablizers". We have 5 in the trailer and it moves when we walk around, or someone rolls over in bed. These universal stabilizers don't get rid of 100% of the movement, but do help.

If you're in a pinch, you could always get a set of Aluminum Stack Jacks. Camco makes them and they're available many places (I think Wally World always has them around here). You could use them for your trip as a temporary work-around until the dealer can get you squared away.

These: http://www.amazon.com/Camco-44560-Ol...co+stack+jacks

Then later after your jack is replaced, you can use them to stabilize the rest of the trailer. I use them and they work well, but are a bit of a pain to set and adjust.

I agree and would use anything - small bottle jack, small screw jack, CAMCO auxiliary, etc. to make sure I could go.

The manual stabilizers are simple bolt on and off, I think. If so, can you remove and have the washer welded at a muffler shop and then reinstall?

I added four additional jacks to my trailer (got tired of messing with the CAMCO auxiliary) which I got at a very reasonable price from eTrailer.com with excellent service.

I added Husky brand scissor jacks to our trailer. They are heavier duty than what came stock with the trailer... Got them from Camping World.

Thanks for all the responses! I contacted our dealer and they are going to send me one to replace the jack. Heavier duty jacks would might not be a bad idea as an upgrade in the future. The broken one, had a weld break where the long screw and washer are welded together. Could have happended to anyone.

By the way, if anyone is reading, I have four of those CAMCO auxiliary jacks to give away - PM me and they are yours for the cost of shipping.
