2016 377RLBH Rainier Tires are blistering
We bought our 2016 North Point in December 2016, New, and have pulled it approximately 1200 miles. Monday, I was setting up once we got to our destination and noticed that the back right tire has blisters in the rubber about 2 inchs in diameter on the outside and inside by the rim.
I guess my question is, what are my chances of getting this replaced under warranty?
I have also been experiencing the brakes on the trailer are locking up whenever i touch the brakes while backing. Any ideas on why that is happening? So far I just unplug the trailer wires so i dont have to keep pulling forward to unlock the brakes.

Sounds like a trip to the local dealer for warranty work is in order. Take advantage of your warranty.
I let my wife talk me into an extended warranty explicitly for our Ranier tires, which was probably foolish because I'm replacing them this year - but even without that extra coverage, you do have a tire warranty on your new camper.
Regarding the brakes, that doesn't sound right either assuming your brake controller in your truck isn't doing something freaky..

Ya..I would ASAP the brake problem to the dealer.
You don't want something braking loose in there and making a complete mess going 60mph.
Something is not right.

My Rainer's only lasted about 9/10 months before I just replaced them with the Sailuns. I haven't worried about tires since...also purchased a TPMS for them.
As for the brakes, I echo what has been said...take to service to have them looked at. They should not be doing that.

Get rid of the rainier tires and do yourself a favor by getting the sailun S637. You'll be glad you did.
X2 on the brake issue

My 2016 Eagle occasionally will lock up the brakes when lightly tapping them when backing up. I'm picking mine up after work today and interested to see what they found. Hopefully the answer isn't nothing.

My guess is the brake issue is more with your controller than the brakes themselves. With my tekonsha controller you are supposed to hold down on the button for 3 seconds before backing which essentially shuts the brakes off

Our Ranier's bubbled after our second trip and less than 3000 miles. They did it while setting in the driveway. Why would you want to warranty them and get the same pieces of junk back? Go buy some Goodyears or Sailuns.

My dealer took apart both driver's side brakes and didn't see anything wrong with them. I've only had this problem when making a 180* left turn in our circle then backing down my driveway and maybe that has something to do with it. My truck has built-in brake controller.

Everyone so far in this thread recommended Sailun tires. Why do you think they are better than the Maxxis?
I need new tires this year.

Sailun tires are G rated. They are some serious heavy duty tires. We're talking like semi truck tires. They weigh more than your stock tires and rims combined. Nothing wrong with maxxis but the sailuns are definitely a step up. They are comparable to Goodyear G614 but at half the price. I've said it to many people before, do yourself a favor and get the Sailuns. You'll be glad you did

My tires did the exact same thing after less than 2000 miles. I contacted the dealer and ended up with nothing. I suspect that this is due to the integrity of the dealership. I did not contact Jayco. Now have a reputable brand of tires load range F.

My Raniers did the same thing. Bubbles on outside and inside of two tires. Looking into warranty issues but I know my Jayco warranty doesn't include tires. We have had our Northpoint 1 yr 2 months.

I recommend to anyone who asks that when you purchase, or plan to purchase, a new fifth wheel, that you budget for an immediate tire change. At a minimum plan to go to the G614 or similar, or if you want to go whole hog then do the 17.5" upgrade with spanky new wheels and G114 tires or similar. The peace of mind will be well worth the money spent.

Just an idea. Is the trailers brake away cable pulled or activated? That would do it.

Steel sidewalls vs. polyester (both have steel belts)
Require 110 psi wheels vs 80 psi
No surprise, they cost more
Maxxis are good tires, Sailuns are better if you are willing to spend the money for both the tires and wheels (if needed).

Maxxis tires have a E load rating as the highest offering. Sailun and G614 go to F or G ratings.

I looked at the Maxxis. Didn't see a 235/85. They only have 235/80.
I'm already fighting an unlevel problem, a smaller tire would make it even worse.

If you upgrade to 17.5" Sailuns I'm pretty sure they are actually "H" rated. They are a pretty tough tire.

It though all along I had 235/85's. I actually have 80's.
I think the 1/2" taller 85 will put me almost perfect (I've already dropped my springs 1")
