AC Question

We have a 19h and the air works great on high cool but when we go to low cool it warms up the rv in about 15 min's. Is that normal?
When we stored it last year we told the dealer as it is under warranty. they did fix everything else but not this.
Just wondering if it is normal.

Sounds normal to me. Low cool puts out cool air at a low fan speed, high cool puts colder air out at a higher fan speed.

Does not sound normal to me. The difference between low cool and high cool should only be the fan speed. The compressor should run the same in both cases. It sound like you may have a defective switch where the compressor is not running in the low cool position. Listen carefully and you should be able to determine if the compressor is running or not.

Your right. Depending on temp setting the AC unit is set to. We typically leave ours set med cool and on a high fan speed in the summer time. Im just going by a roof mounted Coleman unit, not too sure on the side units.

I would check the battery - make sure the disconnect switch is connected perhaps if you have one... Working in HIGH speed and not is LOW speed can only be associated with the thermostat to me... I am assuming you only have a COOL only air conditioner not one with heat strips added to it... If you do have the heat added to the air conditioner then maybe you are not switching the correct switches???

To me the fact the air conditioner works just fine in HIGH COOL tells me nothing is wrong with the air conditioner per say...

Found out on low cool the compressor is freezing up. Was told by dealer that this is normal

When the air flow slows the evaporator coil may ice up.
