Alpha 1021 Self Leveling Sealant

Anyone using Alpha 1021 Self Leveling Sealant instead of Dicor?
Like it? Hate It?
Pros and cons?

Since it's nearly impossible to find and very expensive to order online, I just went with the standard Dicor self leveling for my roof. It worked well and after talking to multiple dealership service departments, it's what they use on their Alpha and TPO roofs.

I think I remember reading a long time ago on here that one member contacted Alpha systems and asked that very question. IIRC, Alpha said that Dicor sealant contains a small amount of "petroleum distillate" (death for rubber roofs from what I understand). But that the petroleum distillate gasses off during the curing process, before it can do any harm. So, while they would like you to use "their" sealant, Dicor is an acceptable substitute.

I would search for the post, but it would take me forever. It was one post buried in a lengthy discussion, and it was a long time ago.

I personally have an Alpha TPO roof, and I used Dicor to fill a few cracks and low spots a while back. I had no problems and the sealant still looks good. I applied it per the Dicor instructions, but YMMV as they say.

Yeah exactly what Bob said. I found that the front roof seam was lacking a bit of sealant so I added some there as well as touched up a couple other areas. It does contain petroleum distillates but as stated, it gasses off during the curing process.

I did notice a temporary rippling in my rubber roof where the sealant was applied, which is the result of the petroleum distillates, but after it was fully cured it was laying flat again and the bond has been solid.

When the dealer replaced my roof they used Alpha instead of Dicor. Alpha remains very soft and flexible after curing which would allow for any expansion or contraction. Seems like it would be less likely to crack.
