another poll question perhaps

I find it enjoyable to answer some of the questions people ask and I think this is a great forum but it would be interesting to know how many people have read their owners manual. or I wonder if they even know they have one.

Most of the questions about electrical, winterizing, sanitation, cleaning, etc are clearly printed in the manual.

Yep...have read it several times. Then go over areas when needed.

I read and re-read every manual I get. I may already know the answer, but I still like to confirm what I know, or learn more about the product/device.

When I winterized the first time, I found the manual to be vague with little pictoral refrences. I found YouTube videos were more helpful that the manual.

First week I had my trailer, I read all the manuals cover to cover, including skimming over installation instructions (the English parts only!). Now I find myself going back through them frequently as I need questions answered. I read all manuals cover to cover on everything I buy first time I get a chance, and keep them all in a safe place where they can be referenced.

Problem is the ones for my trailer are in a file in my trailer... in storage. I'm afraid to take them out and bring them home because I'm afraid I'll forget them and need them while I'm out. So my only real solution is to scan them all to PDF and keep them on a thumb drive or cloud drive, or copy them all and have one copy in the trailer and one at home! Or perhaps I could download PDF copies direct from the manufacturers... (thinking in text)

So, you see, it's much easier to just hop onto the ol' JOF and ask a question that's on my brain, then I don't necessarily have to go get the manuals from storage.

I have all the manuals in an accordian plastic file to be able to take back and forth to the trailer. I have a plastic tote in the garage that goes back and forth to the trailer every time with either new stuff, washed stuff or stuff I just discover I need, so I leave the manuals in it so I can access them anytime.

I skip the safety section at the front and get right into the real info.

Read mine completely and then went back through several parts. Also downloaded the PDF version into iBooks on my iPad.

I also downloaded PDFs of all of the various manuals that came with the Greyhawk. There were a few that I not could locate PDFs of online. Took those to the office and used our fancy copier/scanner/fax machine to scan them into PDF documents which I then emailed to my iPad. An iPad is much easier to carry than all those paper docs!

manuals

I read all my manuals the 1st night. I've re-read them several times since. They are in the pantry when we are camping, right here beside me when at home. I also have copies on my laptop.
Several times we've camped with family and they ask questions, my first question is: did you read the manual?, next is where is it?
Don't leave home without it.

ebooks

I too carry all manuals in my Kindle Fire (and have at least browsed them). I also have the manuals for my house electronics on it too, as the Kindle is usually within reach.

I don't read them cover to cover, only as a reference when I have a specific question. x2 on youtube videos being much more helpful.

I bought mine used and didn't get one. I sure wish I did. I'd gladly read it.

If requested, Jayco will send either a hard or e-copy to you too. The 2015 e-version wasn't available on-line when we got our TT, but Jayco sent me one within a day of my request

That's good idea. I'll check and see if they have one for a 2008.

X2 Texashighsheriff. I think this forum is more useful than the manual.
