Awning Touching Slide Out

We just picked up or new White Hawk 30DSRE. It has a kitchen slideout on the street side which is the same side as the electric awning.

During our walk through I extended the slide and the fully extended the awning and notice that the awning touches the top of the slideout. I was concernded that through normal usage and with slight breezes the awning would rub on the slideout and eventually cause a reduction in the integrity of th slide out.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue? I did point it out to the service manager and asked that it be noted on our records. I did retract the awning a bit and it did not touch the slideout any longer but if we were to tilt the awning for water run-off then it touches again on one or the other side of the slideout.

The service manger said Jayco does offer a two year warranty which is great but what about the years past that? The service tech did not notice this during his PDI as he did not extend both the slide and awaning at the same time and they never really noticed until now. I know not to keep the awaning out on moderate to windy days but during gental breezes It will rub and I'm certain it will wear down.

The awning is installed correctly and is mounted as high as possible on the TT.

Any thoughts from my fellow forum members?

Mine touches on my slide, normal unless they install a flat pitch awning which has its own set of issues. Honestly, my solution was free - took a pool noodle out of the basement and cut two 6" pieces, I install them over the top left and right corner before deploying the awning.
