Black trim expansion and contraction

On our camper, the black vinyl trim piece that runs the length of the camper separating the side wall from the aluminum skirting, separates from the side wall when exposed to the sun, due to expansion. The black wheel well trim also distorts quite a bit. I don't know what these camper manufacturers are thinking going to these dark colors. The concern I have is with moisture getting to the floor of the camper due to the caulk seal being degraded by constant movement of this trim seal. Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem, as I can't believe that there is a 2016 Jay Flight out there that doesn't have this same issue. Thanks for any replies. Cos

I know someone on this forum covered that trim strip with another piece of larger trim that they found someplace. Sorry I do not remember who it was.

I can see the same thing happening on the trailer parked next to me at Pismo Beach and it's only 73deg during the day but it's sunny. I was going to replace my 6 year old white ones with black but I think it might be a bad idea.

The similar trim on the front of mine did that warp thing.
It was a warranty repair due to a defect in how it was attached.
Dealer said to keep and eye on the side trim because if it did the same thing that would also be a warranty repair.

The black trim on our Pinnacle does the same thing! Our dealer has re-attached it twice now and it still does it. The last time they put a heavy bead of black caulk/sealant on it but that didn't stop it. I suggested they cut off 1/8 inch or so to give it room to expand but they didn't do that. I may just do it myself and see what happens then. Frustrating, to say the least!
