Blower issue?

I was trying to get some stuff done in our 31DSLB and wanted the fan to run while in the drive way. I tried to turn it on without it plugged in and I heard a click but the fan would not turn on until I plugged it in. The blower should run on battery power no? I checked the batteries and they are at 12.5 volts so that should not be the issue. Thanks for any help!

Need a little more info....are you talking about the air conditioner? If so...yes it will only work when your 120volt cord is plugged in.

No not the A/C, I know it needs the 120 hook-up. I am just looking for the fan to run. When I turn the switch to fan, it should run on battery power alone?

If it's the fan associated with the AC then it still requires 120v. The blower on the furnace = 12v, as well as the bathroom vent and kitchen hood vent fans.

Can't think of any other fans in the typical RV.

No, your out of luck on that one. All the components in the ceiling mounted A/C need 120volts to operate including the fan.

You will have to run the roof vent fans. They are dc.

New owner of a 2003 Granite Rigde 3100SS. Had a bit of an issue with the operation of the furnace at first, shuts down after 30 seconds of running. I lit all three burners to get the propane flowing for about 5 minutes, turned the thermostat to heat and then all is ok. However, the air flow was mimimal. I then took the screen off the cold air return located under the fridge. Then I observed a lot of hot air circulating in the area around the blower. The blower is mounted on a flat board but not centered on the board. It is offset about 2 inches to the right allowing air to come into the space around the heater. Question: Is this normal, if it is then I am loosing a tremendous amount of heated air to the space below the fridge. I can fix but would like some input as to whether I should or leave it this way.
