Bonehead Furnace Winterization Mistake

What a bonehead move. I winterized my WH 24RKS trailer last month and somehow bumped the thermostat into the "on"position. The propane tanks have been turned off.

It's been mild here in SW Ohio and I haven't been near the TT much lately so I didn't hear the igniter clicking away until this morning, obviously trying to respond to the thermostat. I checked the thermostat switch and sure enough, it was in the heat/on position. It's off now :-/

My question: what damage to the furnace system could have occurred due to this situation?

None. Pull your battery or at least disconnect it.

Yes, I can see where that would have prevented the problem of the igniter clicking away.

I top off the battery then leave the trailer connected to shore power using a PT30-C EMS. I've done this for many years without incident. It might be smarter to remove the battery and put it on a battery maintainer for the winter.

Obviously. I checked it before closing up, but it must have been bumped accidentally.

The only possible negative I can think of is wearing down the battery from the repeated ignition attempts. Like others have said, pull the battery and put it on a maintainer in a location not subject to weather extremes. I tend to keep mine in the garage.

The other problem might be wear on the sparker.. strange thing is after about 5 attempts it is supposed to give up and wait for a reset.. ( I think as the fridge does that)
