Check your door window for hidden leaks
I was getting ready to change out my door window to a clear with tint when I found this water leak at both lower edges. The caulk had failed and its completely hidden from view unless you remove the inside trim piece. The black you see on the foam on both lower edges is mold. When I removed the glass the caulk just crumbled in that area. My TT is now 5 years old so it took a few years to do this and it's been under cover all winter so really it only year #4 to get like this.

Looks kind of like the black is just where condensation collected over the years. Maybe not. I'm going to check mine tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

We've had a small leak in those windows before too. Fortunately ours had a tattle tail and a tiny drip of water was noticed. Now, I seal all the way around the outside frame, and also seal the glass portion where it meets the frame. No need to just do the top and sides on these types of windows. No problems since doing that on the last several rigs.

Just recaulked the window frame and replaced the glass with a tinted window that matches the other windows. It's nice to be able to look out that door window now.

yeah nice! I wonder why they do that frosted/ribbed glass thing there. I guess because they dont want to bother with a tiny little shade.

Tunce, that looks great! If you don't mind my asking, where did you buy the glass? Does the inside molding just pop off?

Not very well with the tinted glass and you have the screen behind that.

I had it cut at a local glass shop. The inside trim piece just pops right off when you remove the screws.pull the glass out and the outside trim piece will stay in place, it's a one man job.

I like the tinted window there, but be aware that at night when the lights are on, it will work the opposite way, you can see in from outside and it will look black inside.

I have this pleated day/night shade from IKEA for $20.00 that solves that problem. The glass was $17.00 so my cost was a little less than a nice lunch for 2 not including our order to go for Tunce.
