Cracked Rim on Pinnacle

We were getting ready to move to TopSail SP near Destin Florida today and when I moved the 5er off the Lynx Leveling blocks, I heard a POP.

I looked at the wheels and found a cracked rim on the left rear.

Called Dealer and they said they had never heard of cracked rims on Jayco's.

Sent Dealer Pictures and they said they would contact Jayco and let me know.

Has anybody had a cracked rim on their Jayco ???

We have not had any rim problems. Alloy wheels can do that. It was most likely a casting flaw and finally became visible.

Haven't heard of that happening lately Rob. Are you waiting to here back before moving?

Keep us informed of how things turn out.

I haven't had any rim problems, but I did have one brake that was not fully assembled by the manufacturer and it never worked. Jayco referred the problem to Dexter and they paid for my repair 100% with no questions asked.

We went ahead and moved about 150 miles for a long weekend with family in Santa Rosa Beach Florida.
We will head back to our home base in Tallahassee and get the wheel issue resolved before we move again.

Next move will be to Disney's Fort Wilderness for a week after Thanksgiving.

is that a third crack towards the rim lip? Odd that it cracked expecially on such a new TT.

Hope you get ALL new rims as a result. If they were from the same batch/casting time possible the others may fail eventually. Shame that happened to such a nice rim.

Good to hear Rob.

How is the issue going to be cleared up when you are in different places?

Dealer ordered new rim from Jayco, dealer says it will take a few weeks for the rim to get to them.

We are leaving for Orlando the Sunday after Thanksgiving so I order a rim from a Online Retailer that will be here next Tuesday so I will not have to travel without a spare.

Guess when the dealers rim gets here I will have a Aluminum Rim on my spare tire too !!!

I have just returned from a trip to Arizona and on my way home to Canada I had to replace TWO rims on my 2012 36 reqs in Oregon. I was having my alignment checked and the tech noticed that the left rear rim was cracked through on two of the spokes. The other rim was out of true and caused premature "wear and cupping on the inside tread of the tire so much it was down to the cords" Had to install spare and buy a new steel wheel and new tire to get home. Hope this is not a major flaw with these rims.
