Damage is to hot water heater but oven won't light

We had a run-in with a pole at a Walmart and did some damage to the side of our 351 RLTS fifth wheel (2012). Damage is to the basement door and to the hot water heater. It runs fine on electric and we have parts on order for "the big fix".

But here's the rub... the oven won't light. The stove lights fine, just the oven won't light.

Any thoughts?

Sorry to hear about your run in with the pole. That will make for a good campfire story some day. Must be frustrating though. Have you used the oven before? Your unit is new so this is why I ask. After making sure there is gas in the line, by lighting one of the elements, try lighting the oven. Our first time lighting ours took a little time. Also what is interesting, our old trailer had the oven knob in the middle where as our new Jayco has the knob for the oven on the far right.

Do you know what the model # is for the oven... assuming its an atwood. I had the same problem earlier this year and worked it out by recycling the gas a few times (With the window open). As for the crunch... welcome to the club. Mine is in the shop for overtilt damage front and rear. The TV is already fixed. BTW, nobody has a hot water heater. Why would you want to heat hot water? LOL

Because the hot water in the tank is still hot but isn't hot enough after cooling down a bit (sorry, couldn't resist! ).

Then you're heating tepid water... so you have a tepid water heater.

This may not apply but you have to hold the oven control in until the pilot is lit and then continue to hold it for a few seconds until the thermocouple warms up.

Situation Resolved

Apparently we were lighting from the left and should have been lighting from the right. Handedness can be an issue. It's all good.

Glad you got it figured out but I think someone is pulling your leg from the left.

I had a hard time lighting mine the first time. I finally figured out my arm wasn't long enough so I got one of the long lighters. Then I had to figure out where the pilot was and it isn't large as I know now.
