Damage to Exterior Ladder

We have a 2015 Jay Flight 26RLS.
A few months ago I backed my trailer into the side of my shed. The shed won and my trailer ladder was damaged. We contacted our local dealer to arrange for a replacement ladder. They advised us that neither they nor Jayco could say for certain which ladder was installed when the trailer was manufactured. They told me that it could be one of three possibles and it seemed likely that it was a certain one. However, if they ordered it in and it was the wrong one, then I have bought it and it's mine and I have to keep it.
I am dumbstruck that the manufacturer is unable to assist us with this. Imagine if I brought my truck to the Ford dealer with a damaged fender and got a similar response. I have no desire to fill my shed with trailer ladders while trying to get the correct one.
In my most recent contact with the dealer, I asked if the date of manufacture might be of some help. They advised me that if I called Jayco and gave them that info, it might help. Apparently, the dealer isn't interested in doing anything further.
Has anyone had a similar experience and how should I move forward with this?
Thanks.
Gary

Contact Jayco directly by calling or using their contact page via their web page. Make sure you provide them with your make, model and especially your VIN number. They should be able to identify the manufacture and part number information on file regarding your ladder. Once you have the information then take that with you to the dealer's service department.

I don't always go with what the dealer says. Sometimes they are just misguided, misinformed or just to busy to really put forth the effort on your behalf.

Agreed, deal with Jayco directly. Offer to send them a picture if that will help.

Agree, there may have been more than one type ladder but it seems that the dealer could send a picture to Jayco and get the correct one if they were interested in resolving your problem.

Do you have a prior relationship with them or is this your first intro to the type of customer service they provide?

Using your auto dealer example, you could haul it to Jayco and let them look at it but that should not be necessary.
