dead battery

had tt in storage for 5 weeks, had battery disconnected and stored in tt, went to hook up tt, dead battery. have American marine deep cycle battery, came with tt, 4 months ago. want to charge battery at home with battery charger. can find no caps to inspect water level so assume this is a sealed battery? there is a clear glass or plastic port about the size of a dime on top of the battery, what is this for? thanks for help...

If it's like others I've seen, then I think that round window is to judge the charge status. It will be green in color if the battery is charged and in good condition.

FYI: Those "eyeball" indicators are a built in hydrometer that is in just one cell of your battery. A 12V battery has 6 cells. It is possible for a cell to fail and the eye to still show "good" because the failure happened in a different cell.

Not at all what you asked, but just throwing it out there
