Door Won't stay open

Picked up my 2015 19RD , last week, Haven't taken her out yet , getting things in order. I really think Jayco screwed up on their design of the front door holder. First of all the door cannot be opened all the way without the awning out, then when you bring awning back in.... you better make sure door is closed , because awning arms will HIT the door , this is a real stupid design, The plastic door holder they put on to hold door half way open, just rips right out with any kind of wind at all. If this is the biggest of my problems , I will live with it, BUT not too happy with this. Anyone else or any other model have this problem, and any solutions or ideas will help. Thanks

On our Jayco HT, you couldn't open the storage compartment when the walk-thru door was fastened open. Problems like this seem to be more common on the smaller RVs where there is limited space. We've experienced similar issues on a Holiday Rambler and a Keystone Cougar that we've owned. The only reply I get from the dealership on these design problems is 'Welcome to the wonderful world of RVing!"

the plastic door holder on my 198RD already broke also (my five year old tried to close the door). I found a metal one at camping world I'm gonna replace it with.

My 198RD has the same problem. mine is metal but ripped out first day of use. Just a small wind gust did it. Maybe reinstall with good adhesive. Poor design.

I am convinced that the people that design these don't use them or a lot of things would be different.

I currently have my trailer in the shop for this same issue. The first wind that came up while camping ripped the door from hydraulic arm on the bottom of the door frame.

When I asked for a solution they ordered me a new door frame. The problem will still be there.

Very bad design! Jayco will not fix the issue. Just keep fixing it until I am out of warranty!
