dump valve connection

Hi All. We have a 2011 X23B.. I pulled the black tank valve handle and it disconnected from the valve, pushed it back on and it seems to work. Question how does the metal tubing from the handle connect to the dump valve. threaded, some sort of quick connect. what??? Can vibration cause it to loosen up??
I don't want this to repeat. Any input would be helpful

As soon a practical, replace the valve. It failed once, it will do it again.

My experience with mechanical things (close to 50 years) says it will fail completely when you are most in need of it operating properly: Trying to dump tanks in the rain with 3 others waiting to use the station comes to mind.

My handle is threaded. Not real sure how it loosens, but needs to be screwed in from time to time.

Dump valve rod

Hi All..Here was the problem. The dump handle rod where it connects to the dump valve had gradually loosened up over the years until the last couple of female threads in the end of the aluminum rod stripped out. The fix I made. There were several threads left in the end of the aluminum rod so I put a small amount of loc-tite on the threads of the steel stud that sticks out of the dump valve. Tightened it up and I'll give it a try.
