Fiberglass black marks 2010 Jayco 19h

I bought this trailer new in 2011. I live in BC and I've never covered the trailer in the winter until this year . It was only covered for about 3 months and when I took it off to clean I found black marks that don't come off with black streak remover. The marks seem like their in the Fiberglass. I've attached a picture but it's hard to see. The marks are not around the windows etc. those marks come off easily with black streak remover . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great one

Chris

Covers can and do rub the surface and can cause rub marks. Try a fine rubbing compound and see if they come out.

Might try a "Mr Clean sponge" I have had good results with these and have not noticed any type of dulling or scratching on any surface I've used them on. As wags999 stated a very mild rubbing compound may also work.

I've had great success removing black marks and rust stains using a Magic Eraser and Fast Orange Hand Cleaner. Do not dilute the Fast Orange. Use it straight with the Magic Eraser or a sponge. Diluting it with water significantly reduces the effectiveness.

The "grit" in Fast Orange isn't really that aggressive and dissolves as it is worked in. I've not noticed any dullness in finish on fiberglass or my white Sprinter van after use. I did notice a bit of dulling on my sister's black 1994 Toyota pickup when I used Fast Orange to remove a large fence paint rub. A bit of Turtle-wax polish brought the black finish back without much effort.

Fast Orange also helps with headlight lenses if you use a good automotive polish after the cleaning. It's not as good as the proper cleaning kit, but it removes much of the haze.

FWIW. vic
