freshwater drain valve replacement

The plastic drain valve on my freshwater tank is falling apart. Does anyone know how is it attached to the tank on a 2005 Jayfeather 29Y ?

The one on my 2005 23B looks identical to yours. I have ordered a replacement just have not yet installed it. We almost always camp with full hook ups so not a big issue for me.

Can you tell me the part number ? If I can look it up I might be able to tell if the part screws in or slips into a hose with barb.

I can tell you it just pushes into the clear hose. I belive there is a hose clamp on it and that is all. I didn't get a part number just ordered one off of amazon. They are pretty much universal I assumed.

Take those screws out and look! There is probably a short piece of tubing under that fancy plastic housing that pushes on a hose barb molded on the backside of the valve.

That is the way mine was. Just two screws to hold it in and slide it out. Remove the old valve and slide the new one in. I have replaced those on just about all my units. This Florida Georgia heat just does them in.

I had to replace the drain valves on my TT. I bought a pair (mine has 2) and took the old ones off. Found out I got the wrong part, because the hose barbs on the new ones were too small. Just saying, different hose sizes are used in different rigs, so I'd remove one and measure the hose ID before getting the new valves.

The 2 "screws" in the pictures were actually rivets. I had to take 4 screws out that were attached to the frame and take the whole thing apart. I cut the rivets off from the inside and pushed the old valve out. The old valve is the barb variety and I will be putting a new valve back in place with screws this time. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
