Gas Water Heater jayflight 2011

I have a 2011 jayflight, the gas water heater just stopped working for some reason. I think i have narrowed it down to either the electric spark, but the control board is fine, or either the element but i'm not sure. If you could advise me it would be awesome. Thanx

There is no element in a gas WH.
Check the burner and tubes for dirt daubers or spider webs. Try blowing in the burner with compressed air to see if something is blocking the chamber. Try to see if you see a spark when it attempts to light. make sure you have propane.

Just a few that come to mind.

BTW, Welcome to JOF!

If it was working fine, then abruptly quit, then basically, something broke. Could be the ignitor, the electric gas valve, the board, or maybe just a bad electrical connection.

I'd first check all the electrical connections at WH. Make sure there are no broken wires. Reseat connections.

When you try to run it now, do you hear gas flowing? That would tell me ignitor or board problem. No gas flowing when you turn it on? Valve or board problem or out of propane.

And like Paintinfool said, it needs 12vdc to operate on propane, so verify that.

These are the things I'd check if my water heater quit on me. Good luck.

I got all the hook ups, its my home, the ignitor doesnt click when turned on, nor does gas flow. Thats why im confused. I checked all the troubleshooting that im aware of. All the other gas operated things work fine.

There is a thermal cutoff fuse like protector in the dc line right in the circuitry in front. Verify continuity thru that fuse able link.

Chek out this: Its for Atwood wh troubleshooting

Great, easy to check and bypass if its bad until you can get a new one.

It's purpose is to shut the WH down in case of a fire, the heat melts the element in the thermal fuse.
