Generator exhaust leak into RV

Has anyone had a problem with exhaust gases leaking into a Greyhawk RV? When I have to run the generator, the CO monitor goes off in the middle of the night. I even cut the wires to the integral CO monitor and purchased a plug in. It also went off, which indicates that I truly have a CO leak into the RV. I am guessing that the CO level cannot build up in the daytime because the door is opened so much. After we retire for the night, however, the CO level apparently builds up enough to set off the monitor. Scares the you-know-what out of us and worries us. I have to turn on a fan and turn on the vent in the bedroom to keep the monitor from going off. Not desirable in hot weather!

Yes! Definatley needs attention! We recently had several people die in a motor home not too far away when they had an exhaust leak. Is it under warranty? Either way I would recommend you get it to a certified RV mechanic and have it looked at.

I agree, any type of fumes is serious stuff in an enclosed environment. I wouldn't run the generator at night at all..., even with the fans running!

Get it checked out ASAP!

Bob

ps: Do you have an exhaust extension for your genny routed up-above the MH?

x3 or 4 on getting it checked out. Curious - what model Greyhawk do you have? My 31ss has a slide right next to the gen cabinet - if yours is the same I wonder if the fumes are coming through the slide seal?? Still - get to a repair shop
