Help with electrical problem..
Greetings,
We have a 2015 Jayco Jayflight 267 (30 AMP ) that accoridng to the manual it came with a WFCO ULTRA III POWER CONVERTER model WF - 8735P or WF-8740P ( According to the manual ). I decided to move the camper in my property and when it was plugged back into the same regular outlet (20 amp), i noticed that i had no power coming out of the camper's outlets. Everything works, lights, fridge and battery appears to be charging. I tried all the outlets inside the camper with a voltage meter and they are not working. I checked all the fuses inside the camper ( Fuse Box ) and they appeared to be OK. The only thing i can think of is a bad converter. Any advise will be grateful. Thank You in advance and safe travels.
Mike

The converter nor the fuses affect the outlets. They are protected by circuit breakers. You also have a GFI outlet that controls the outside, the kitchen and the bathroom outlets. One of those outs is a GFI. Most likely the GFI has tripped.

Thanks for the response. Well, I just checked the camper and notice that the GFi on the house outlet ( 20 amps ) was tripped. Reset it and when i plugged the camper again it tripped. Am guessing I must have some type of shortage inside the camper.

There is nothing wrong. It is not recommended to plug your camper into a GFI outlet. There can be a long explanation as to how and why this happens. It not that there is anything wrong. If you will notice the 30 and 50 amp receptacles at a campground are NEVER GFI.

The camper does not have an earth ground. I would think this would present a problem Plugging your camper into a GFI.

Are you trying to run the a/c too? Maybe you are drawing too many amps for that 20A house circuit.

I plug my trailer into a GFIC outlet with no problems. The GFIC never trips. The third wire on your plug is your ground. It could be caused by the GFIC in your trailer as GFIC's are not supposed to have two on the same circuit.

You may be one of the lucky ones that the GFIC never trips but far to many have reported that they have had theirs trip.

I was at a NF campground and it had a 15 amp GFI circuit (!) for my hookup, it would blow the when I turned on the refrigerator. I wasn't happy but it wasn't hot and had a cooler, and the spot was free for volunteering for helping with a mountain bike race ... and all other spots were taken. So, some spots do have GFI and they are not very good for hooking up. I've also been at a site that had a 10 amp hookup and I was able to run my AC as long as we didn't have the coffee maker or other similar stuff trying to run at the same time. How, I'm not sure but it worked. YMMV

GFCI TO GFCI , if both are working correctly you will trip the last outlet you plug into ie if you plug the tt into the house GFCI it will trip. Larry ps this can be confirmed with the local elect inspector, or elec engineer. it has to do with not being connected with the tt ground, so the house gfci senses that and tripsso nobody gets hurt.
