Bought my trailer last yr. 2006 model in like new condition.... Ok Ok...
Last year when using my water heater it would cut out, operate intermittently. I cleaned some connections on the heater, the ECO (?) and TSTAT sensors on the side of the heater. Was a little corrosion on the connectors. Cleaning them seemed to work. Now I bring my trailer home to go out this weekend. Fire up the heater and it seemed to fire and work. A little while later I notice that it is not on and the fault light is on on the switch panel inside. Cleaned all the connections that I cleaned last yr - better than I cleaned them last year. Nope no go. You can hear and feel the fuel solenoid clicking (more like a clunk) and the igniter sparking but no flame. Seems like low fuel pressure. Crack the fuel line and am getting propane. I remember last year every initial time it took a little to light as it took a while for propane to make it back to the heater.
So this is where I am at. Any suggestions?
Ok I talked to a couple dealers... consensus was that there was an obstruction of some kind in the flame tube or the orifice coming off the propane valve in the heater. As igniter was firing and propane valve was operating they concluded that electrically everything was working. Barring some thing silly like an empty fuel tank or closed valve -- obstruction was about all that was left. It apparently doesnt take much to interfere with the propane flow. Even a single strand from a spider in the flame tube or a grain of sand in the orifice is all it takes.
Took it all apart blew everything out put back together and works perfectly. I like it when I can fix my own stuff.
