The work has been completed and looks superb. A little more drying and I'm on the road. I will post some pictures after I get where I'm headed for the night. I want to get backed in before dark if I can.

Glad it's all done and looks good. I'm a bit envious as I'd love to have that on EVERY RV. Instead we do a seam coating from Proguard, which does really well. Wouldn't have solved your original issue though. If we end up getting a new full time rig this year, I'll be tempted to go ahead and get it done from the get go. Almost did it last time we full timed, but sold the rig. Glad to know there is somewhere a little closer than Florida that does it, AND does a good job.

It would be nice if Jayco and other manufacturers offered this type of roof as an option. Ed, sounds like your good to go for a long, long time. Thanks for posting your experience.

I think Excel did, before they closed the doors, but it was the rhino armor coat version. Only a few manf. offered the roof like that as a factory option, and they weren't the mass production type like Jayco is.

Here 'tis. I took this opportunity to get rid of the crank up broadcast TV antenna also. I never use it and it has leaked through it a couple of times. This replacement is a Winegard Road Star. The skylight is new also. I couldn't see leaving the old one.

It is supposed to rain here tomorrow and for the first time in a long time I'm not worried about a leak.

Take a look at the pictures I just posted. I'm happy with it.

I assure you if I ever buy another RV it will go straight to RV Flex Armor for a new roof. No more rubber for me EVER!

Pretty much what I want to do. If we get a new one, I'll make sure it's a keeper first (not a lemon), then proceed with the sprayed roof. If you're full timing like yall are, and like we have and may be again, it's a no brainer. I like how they coat over the vinyl insert trim. I always seal mine up another way, but a lot don't know about the famous wicking screws under that trim. That track / trim can fill up with water easily. No worries now.

Looks great Ed. Thanks for posting those pictures. Mind saying what the final bill was? I know it's a little more than I posted due to the luan. When mine was quoted, it was a shade cheaper per linear foot, plus they weren't replacing anything because it was brand new at the time.

Your roof looks great! Do they usually remove the rubber roof before spraying on the new coating?

Ed, Did you have any conversations about future need to say replace the skylight or how the roof would be repaired if for some reason you had to break nice sealing job?

Only if there is damage under it due to a leak. Some of mine was removed due to the membrane failure. Fortunately I caught it early and damage was minimal and only located on the roof - nothing inside.

I agree with you completely.

I was told that a presentation was recently made by Flex Armor to a major high end MH company about offering Flex Armor roofing vs rubber and was flat turned down by the owner. He said he was in the business of selling motor homes not lifetime roofs. And when owners of his MH's had roof issues they usually just bought a new MH.

Yes. Cut it as necessary for your repair and reseal with Dicor or other self leveling roof type product. Then stop by one of their facilities and they will fix it right. This isn't a free service, but not a major charge I was told.

Planned obsolescence.

I like the way it laps over the seam between the roof and sidewall. That's always a concern for me.
Question; On the new skylight, it looks like there is a gap where the material meets the skylight. Is that some sort of putty material under there or am I just seeing something that's not there?

Good to hear that this is turning out so well.

What does Flex Armor recommend as to what maintenance is required by the owner?

I think that must be a shadow. This picture was taken inside with ceiling lights on. The material is sprayed right on the skylight.

Wash with non abrasive household cleaners. Mild bleach/water solutions are acceptable.

Inspect seals and edges of roof periodically.

Pretty simply. No more 100'+ of caulking to inspect, scrape off, re-apply, etc.
