Need help!

My brand new camper has a water heater issue! I just went by the dealership and got new thermostat for my Atwood dsi water heater. Still didn't fix the problem. The camper isnt a month old yet. The hot water heater kicks and and heats the water fine. However I've noticed the pop off valve weeping, then when it kicks off, it will not light back. Then faults out. Anyone have an idea of what it could be?

You've got a couple of things going on here. First, the reason the safety valve is weeping could be because the air pocket at the top of the tank has been absorbed. These hot water tanks have be drained from time to time to replenish the air pocket. The air pocket at the top of the tank is to make room for expansion of the water. When this air pocket gets absorbed the only place the water can expand is through the safety valve.

Problems with propane ignition are not all that uncommon. The two Atwood water heaters I've had would never light the first time. If they had been sitting for a while they would cycle through the three lighting attempts and fault out. Turning the propane switch off and back on will cause it to cycle three more times. I had to go through at least one fault every time with both water heaters. Maybe just turning off the propane switch and trying again will get to work.

That's what I kind if thought, but wonder why it's weeping?

The way I work I can't take it back to the dealership and I'm staying in it. Working out of state so makes it difficult to get it back to the dealership. Got it Jan 18th. Already off on the wrong foot.

Turn the water off to the camper, drain some of the water from the tank to create a head of air, turn your water source back on and see if it continues to weep. If it does, then try popping the safety valve a bit and let it slam shut. Perhaps there's a bit of crud on the seat of the valve.

I've heard this as well. I ve heard folks running it on electric to heat it up and dry things out, then reverting back to propane. This is of course if this is a gas/electric heater.
As other have mentioned, weep could be caused by absorption of the air gap. The air gap needs to be there for proper operation.

If the valve weeps water then it probably will leak air too, there goes the air pocket. I think it would take quite a bit of time to dissolve the air. I had one that leaked a bit and was able to flush it by lifting the lever on the valve to flush out whatever was preventing a seal (make sure the water is't HOT). If this doesn't solve the issue, it can be replaced.
