Roof Paint/ coating

A guy next to me at our storage yard has a class A. He painted his roof with some coating type paint he got at Wal-Mart (I forget the name). It sure looks good; I wonder if that would cause issues down the road?
Anybody paint their roof?
Thanks

Was he actually painting it or was he doing the rubber roof maintenance thing?

It wasn't paint but some kind of coating he got at Way-Mart, The next time I see him I'll ask what it was. I was just wondering if using something like that would defeat the future use of Dicor lap seal or Eternabond tape.

There are all types of coating on the market. Sure would be good to know what he is using and what type roof he has on the class A.

I am always skeptical of rave product reviews. There are no controls so anyone can and often do post false reviews of a particular product. I'm not saying these particular reviews are false, just saying I take them with a grain of salt...

This is what I have good reviews about: https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...sl_zj235h68b_b

That stuff he is using may work well on a mobile home with a metal roof. I would be a little cautious of putting it on EPDM.

I'm with you. That liquid roof looks good and it's quite a bit more expensive not that that is necessarily a good thing but, you tend to get what you pay for.
I'll probably coat my roof this fall.

In Florida I sea Lanco Seal as the most often used rubber roof coating. Good for EPDM or TPA rubber roofs. Used it myself, Thick but applies with a roller and is highly reflective for AC savings.

While down in Yuma AZ this last 3 months a fellow Canadian was looking to put a rubber coating on his RV, we went together and bought 4 gallons of Heng's rubber coating in the orange can for 45 bucks US with free shipping from a company in Michigan called Johnson"s RV or something like that. We had a guy come over and do both units using 2 gallons each. The product was rolled on and was dry in 45 minutes. It has a good review. It cost me a total of $210.00 for product and application. It was completed on the 23 March 2017 and I left for Canada on the 25th with no worry of it not curing properly. I was telling another friend about it and we went to Amazon.ca to check out product and just about fainted when we saw their price, best to check around for best price.

So last weekend I went to RV dealer to buy roof sealer/coating and the parts guy said most people that coat roof have to do it every couple of years. He said save your money and check roof for holes, leaks and didn't recommend starting to coat the roof.
Not sure if he was right or wrong, but didn't want to sell it to me, a new RV owner with older trailer...
