It is out of warranty, so the first thing I would do is drill a very small (1/8" or smaller) hole at the end of the crack. This will stop it from propagating any further. Next I would do some searching to figure out why it cracked. As for the fix, I cannot help, but I had a small spiderweb crack in my side wall and the dealer sent it out for repair and I could not locate spot. So it can be fixed and fixed very well.

If fixed properly, the sidewall will have to be removed to get to what is causing the flexing.

Norty, If I recall yours cracked too? How did the repair go. Ours cracked and Jayco fixed it at the factory under warranty.

To the OP, even though your unit is out of warranty I would still call Jayco and see if there is anything they would do to help you. They are also the best place to have it repaired even if you have to pay for it.

No my Jayco didn't crack. My old SN did but it never got any worse than one inch.
I have heard of many that had a gusset missing from the frame.

Sorry I don't agree with you taking the whole wall out. There could be a number of reasons for the cracks. The wall can be opened on either side of the crack. The fix is patching with fibreglass sanding & repainting the patch after the reason is determined. Dealers don't want to fix them it's too labour intensive for them.

Just had a 2011 31.5 RLTS come back from Jayco with a cracked sidewall issue. Dealer tried to get it repaired locally. Jayco had a 4 page instruction sheet of what had to be done if they were going to warranty it. It was extensive enough and required the slide nearest the crack to come out that no one locally would attempt it. The dealer had at first lined up a repair shop that fixed boats. they backed out when they saw what Jayco wanted done. Flexing was the problem!! There had to be supports added or repaired behind the wall!! Jayco ended up picking up the unit at the dealership and taking it back to there repair facility. Appears to be a first rate repair!!!

Mine went back to jayco last fall and they put a whole new side on and repaired the weak frame. There was no charge to me. They have a frame issue and they know it.

I took mine back there myself, Jayco paid all fuel, toll, rv stays and put me up in a motel while they worked on the trailer. Repair started Monday first thing and I got the trailer back on Friday at noon. The other 2weeks they are quoting I would guess is for transportation.
