Slide awnings question

All three slide awnings on our fifth (2010 351RLSA) are extremely loose. When it rains they just collect the water and it's a pain to get it out of them.

We're on a seasonal site and the slides stay open all summer.

I've read that beach balls between the slide roof and awning would help, but is there a different solution? The kitchen/entertainment slide is huge and to get a ball to the center would be difficult and it would be even more difficult to get it out in the fall.

Is there a way to increase the tension on the awnings?

I don't know about the toppers but the main awning and window awnings have tension springs. It should be possible to increase the spring tension.

www.awningairwedge.com

I bought two of them and they work great. Just don't inflate them all the way. When it gets hot out you want to allow them room enough to expand. You will get a feel as to how much to inflate. Don't adjust the tension on the toppers because you will never get them tight enough. They are supposed to give so they don't tear.

For longer slides you can try an air mattress.

Put the ball in a mesh bag, tie a line to it and toss the line through to the other side and pull the ball to where you want it. Tuck the end of the line under the awning till you want to remove the ball, then just pull it out.
