Slide out seal replacement

On my Eagle 5th wheel the slideout seals have rotted on the top and outer ends to where they are falling apart. This is the bulb seals that slide into a channel and the slide perimeter presses against them when retracted.

Is there a source for these other than the dealers?

I found this one but not sure where the dimensions are taken

SMALL EK OUTER SEAL-9/10 x 11/16 x 100' BLACK [018-1681] - $209.25 : AP Products, RV/Mobile Home Hardware
This is a little off topic, perhaps, but IMO it seems early for those seals to fail....
Did you use any kind of lubricant etc. on those seals?
What, if any, product did you use to wash your trailer?
Were those seals in the sun for long periods of time?

Hopefully you'll get answers to your questions. Maybe your answers can help others in the JOF.

(BTW, 'PlayersZ28' brings back memories of my 1969 Z28... I miss that car. )

Only had the trailer since last summer so not sure on sun exposure but I expect it just sat outside. Just soap and water and no lube on seals.

I was surprised they are falling apart already, it's about 12" along and down from each top corner, rest of the seal is fine

I don't know if it was the sun or not. My top seal of one slide that sits to the sun is rotted too. It's more like a sticky oily mush.
All slides are out when I wash it, I never have sprayed with anything. All other slide seals are fine except the one that is in the sun a lot more then the others.

I was going to get a new one, but traded the rig instead.

Did some more checking on the seals. It's not rot that's tearing them. It looks like the top corners of the slides are grinding them up during transit. This is on the two larger slides that use the rack under the slide to extend/retract.

Is this an adjustment issue?

im not sure if you have purchased or not yet, but call Bontrager surplus in Michigan. I was just there over the weekend and bought a much more complicated slide out seal from them for my old jayco (has the bulb seal and wiper all in one) for a buck a foot. I would guess if you called and sent an email or text with a pic and measurments, they would be able to help you out. They had a ton of different seals, and many were less than a buck a foot. Even with shipping (if they will sell and ship it by the foot) it should be less than those prices. Good luck! Dave

Thanks, haven't done anything about it yet. I contacted Jayco asking why the seal would wear in the upper corners and they said to check that the slide is adjusted properly and not moving around. I'll check that when it gets a bit warmer outside.

Would be but I bought it used and the Jayco warranty is non-transferable.
