We had some faux wood trim come loose after one of the slides caught on a low drawer that had worked itself out. Never happened before so we never check it, but we do now. Made a heck of a noise breaking loose after the slide started coming out crooked. Anyway, Jayco used staples, I just reattached w/ brads of the appropriate length and they've worked fine.

Yep, use brads or screws.

In most cases you should be OK, but, I'd check anyway. If there is a staple there a nail should be ok (a short one).

From measuring the staples on mine, I came up with 22 ga fine wire crown staples x 5/8" long with a width of 3/16".
I own brad guns and staplers but nothing this fine. It appears to be one of the more expensive staples and staple guns out there, compared to the 18 ga.

Just use 5/8" long staples or brads. Guage is not really key to the problem. Jayco probably uses the thinnest (cheapest) staples they can buy.

Ah, but the OP asked what size Jayco used right, so I answered.
They do use "thin" in order to visually pleasing. Thin is not cheap. I mentioned these were more expensive.
I personally used 18ga x 5/8" and put white out on them. They are more noticeable than Jayco's.
Brads would be great, if combined with glue. I think simple brads will pull thru.

Yea, I thought about that w/ my latest trim reattachment after the slide got hung up on a lower drawer knob but decided against it as it may need replacing again down the road and I didn't want to fight w/ peeling it off in places. The brads worked fine, given a light touch so they just went in under the surface.

gun staples and nails
Most finish staples and gun nails have an applied adhesive that is thermally activated by the friction of penetration. That's way those 22 gauge narrow-crown staples hold like crazy. Construction-size gun nails are nasty to pull.
