Thetford Style II Died - Again

I have the potty referenced above and this will be my second replacement in just under 4 years. Yes I full time, but you would think these potty's would last longer.

The first one failed with a leaking water valve and the flush peddle would not stay on the housing. There was a problem with the housing. Jayco warranty replaced it.

The one that is failing now won't hold water (yes the gasket is clean) and the flush mechanism feels like it is full of sand. There is something wrong with the mechanism that rotates the "ball". It isn't fully seating under the gasket. Fortunately I have the Jayco extended warranty (yes I know it is administered by a third party company, but Jayco provided it initially as part of my purchase).

I'm not a big fan of extended warranties, but I'm sure glad I have this one. So far I have used warranty for:

Microwave
Stereo
Left rear wheel/brake hub
Left large slide motor
Front jack motor and wireless control
IOTA Transfer switch "smoked"
Refrigerator
Two Thetford Style II's
Propane valve on water heater
Water heater propane thermostat

That sounds like a lot of stuff, but all was covered under warranty.

My Thetford Style Two would not shut off after flushing causing the toilet to overflow. I replaced the water valve and other stuff with no success. After 5 episodes of overflowing toilet water, I was ready to replace the toilet. I tried one last thing. I put a shutoff valve between the water valve and the sprayer in the toilet. Just means we have another valve to open when we flush but it stops the slight leak when you flush and the water valve does not close. Haven't had anymore overflows. I used reenforced hose out of the water valve to the shut off valve just in case the flush pedal was pressed with the shut off valve closed. Regular hose could burst with significant pressure.
