Water pump problem

Hi everyone. My wife and I have just purchased our second Jayco van. A 2003 Heritage tandem poptop van. Never having a van that operates on a 240 volt reducing to a 12 volt system before I need some help. We have a 12 volt water pump installed with hot and cold water. Problem I have is that the 12 volt water pump does not work on plain 12 volt. If 240 volt is connected it works fine. I have the power unit under the lounge seat with 3 switches. One is 12 volt, one is the water heater on switch and the other is the 240 volt switch. Previous owner told me about this problem. As the rest of the van works fine on battery power has to be a simple explanation on how to correct it. We have a 12 volt battery installed next to the power unit with a charger that charges the battery while on 240 volt. Is there a switch somewhere to turn it on maybe or does the 240 volt switch need to be on to complete the curcuit? Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Also I am fitting throughout LED lights to keep the amp usage as low as I can for free camping.

Problem solved. one switch is 12 volt and the other Switch is the isolator for 12 volt water pump so it stays off when travelling. ALL FIXED.

Glad you found the problem.

Mine has 2 separate switches, either one will turn the pump on.

It's just familiarizing ourselves with the systems that is a bear.
