Where's this water coming from?

Hi New Friends,

I need help identifying what this leak is from and where I get the parts to fix it. I"m assuming it is a gasket of some sort, but do you think I could just seal it with silicone and call it good? Is there a part I need to buy?

I'm thankful for any help.

Here's a video of the leak.

It's a 2003 Jayco Kiwi 21C camper

have you check the hot water heater. Also listen on the inside of the camper for any sounds of water running as it could be a burst line.

As far as parts or silicone its hard to say at this point until you find the cause of the problem

Also is that with city water hook up or fresh tank filled? If tank pump on or off?

Where's this water coming from?

Are you connected to city water?
This is not going to be a band aid repair. I would stop the water running and get some help if you can't find the source.

+1, that's not just a dribble you can dab some silicone on and be GTG, that looks pretty bad; lots of water.

I see it's near a tank (black or grey)? Is it a tank washer/sprayer? What else is going on around the trailer during that geyser?

Depending on angles and what not, the leak could be occurring a great distance from where you see the water coming out. Water finds the path of least resistance, and that path could lead all the way down the other end of the trailer...

Answer most of the above questions, and perhaps someone can help. That much water isn't a leak, its a flow from something. If its running from inside, you can expect major problems, unless its stopped and dried out fast.

That kind of flow looks like a leak from your fresh water supply - either a cracked pipe, connection come off etc. Does it do it on City water AND with pump on or just one?
I would be checking all my piping inside - open cupboards, look under sink, wherever the piping is to find the leak.

I had a leak this year, but it was a drain leak - dribbled much differently and I found that my p-trap drain under the kitchen sink had vibrated off after some rough roads.

I don't think your leak is a drain leak.

My vote is for a connection that came loose or cracked which can happen if the trailer was exposed to freezing temps.

Another thing might be - are all your bypass valves in the right position. If you left the winter fill hose one open, it could leak out that way.

Another thought. If it is not a pipe issue - is your fresh water tank full? Could it have cracked? You see there are a lot of things it could be.

In the words of the auto insurance commercial.....that's not a leak, that's a flood with some pressure behind it. Cut off the city water and see if it slows or stops. Turn on you water pump and see if it starts again. That would indicate your problem is in a hose, probably a split from the winter or a connector pushed off. If it doesn't come back with the pump on, I would then suspect the tank has a crack in it, either from the winter or from age. Either way you've got some investigating to do of all your water lines for damage, if you don't find any, then you'll probably have to drop the tank and check the top side of it................This most definitely isn't a dab of sealant cure, it's a hose, connector or tank replacement.

Do you have a pressure reducer hooked up to your supply line?

That's kind of what I was thinking. Long time with nothing from OP, perhaps he has his thumb in it!

I hope he got it fixed, and am curious to what it was that was leaking.

Or maybe he is too embarrassed to tell what he did wrong.

I hope they post the outcome. I have been monitoring the board for any info good or bad as we are seriously considering a Pinnacle. Any and all info has been helpful so far as to what to check or be on the lookout for. Hopefully it's just they are not familiar with on this rig

Again, not enough info but Ill give my $.02

The last time I tried to "flush" my black water tank (which I only do at full hook up sites, about once a season) I had a very similar leak. Only when the tank was near full it leaked out like that. So if that what was going on, I suspect that there is a hole in the top of the tank that is allowing the water to flow like that (at least on mine). My fix, dont fill the tank to capasity. I get no water on the inside, so I know it cant be coming from the toilet seal, but suspect it may be leaking at the vent pipe?

There are lots of possibilities for a water leak of that size, now its just time to do a little investigating to figure out exactly where its comming from...

Make another video with an X-ray video camera so we can see through it.
