I'm apparently ignorant of Alabama geography, I've never heard of Oak Moutain State park; but in further admittance, I've never heard of Frank Jackson State Park either (and it's only an hour or so away). Or maybe it's just another Senior moment.

But I checked with my bride - and hopefully we'll be there for two of those days.

I've always liked Free (minus those requiring a sales presentation).

Y'all come on down now, yah heah?

I've now been turned down by the three closest state parks; it seems that many folks heard about this and are taking advantage of it.

Seems as though I was premature, I got in with the dates I wanted. Lakepoint State Park in Eufaula, AL. So y'all be persistent and keep trying.
