Should PLASTIC BAGS be BANNED?

From the Open Road RV.Net Blog --

Paper or plastic? Don’t tell Al Gore, but we usually opt for plastic – and they are neatly stored inside a pop-a-bag dispenser (http://goo.gl/LmhX66)*beneath our Airstream kitchen counter. The pop-a-bag dispenser is a brilliant solution for all those loose plastic bags drifting around your kitchen like a scene from American Beauty. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the [...]

We can't always get them but we prefer paper bags. We live in logging country and paper keeps loggers working. Plus, you can use them to start campfires. Would that be the same Al Gore that invented the internet?

When we vacationed on one of the small Hawaiian Islands last year. Plastic bags were banned. Period. Only paper, or bring your own. No plastic bags littering the roadways and beaches… really nice.

Should PLASTIC BAGS be BANNED?

Way back in high school I was a sacker at a grocery store. Sure was easy to bag up with those paper bags! Nice and neat...I hate the plastic with everything just thrown in all jumbled up....

No, give people a choice. We reuse our plastic bage instead of purchasing new bags for garbage or recycle liners.

I prefer paper, but in our area some stores won't give those out unless you insist or beg. We do reuse the plastic bags for lunch bags, trash, etc. I go in streaks of using cloth bags, but then I don't have plastic bags to put our recycled cans, papers, etc. out in.

Give people a choice. The public will decide this one and its going to be away from plastic bags. I see more people bring their own reusable bags now days that getting the plastic ones. Even people (like me!) who are not "tree huggers" like the reusable bags. They hold more, have nice handles, and have many different uses besides shopping.

Plastic is banned where I live but I collect them wherever I can. They make great trash bags for the trailer and I don't care what Algore thinks about it.

When we are home it is paper. We have a wood stove at home and always have a campfire on our river lot. While in the Jayco it is plastic. Lots of free garbage bags that way.
