Use These When Backing Up Your RV

From the Open Road RV.Net Blog --

When we RV camp – especially when we are backing up our travel trailer – we need direct reliable communication. Smartphones don’t always cut it. That’s why we use “walkie-talkies” (two-way radios) like the Midland LTX600VP3 (http://goo.gl/vLRiJu). We carry a pair in our truck glovebox and use them daily. Walkie-talkies simply work better than smartphones [...]

Yeah, I have a pair of Motorolas that I store in the same place. If I use them, it's usually when it's dark because I can't see the DW as she's directing me back. However, if I'm about ready to clobber something (like her), she hollers so loud that she can be heard in the next county, thus eliminating the need for them altogether.

lol As Larry the Cable Guy would say "I don't care who you are, that's funny".

We also use the walkies since I get zero service at some of the lakes we visit.

The wife was backing me up one night when I had a pup. It was dark and pouring rain. I knew the direction I had to go and the only instructions I gave her were to stop me if I was going to hit anything. I heard a scream (stop) at the exact same time I smashed into a tree. After the yelling, she said I was waving my hands for you to stop. Well hello... thats why my window is down and Im getting soaked because i'm listening for you. Luckily I only broke the lens for the brake light but it certainly sounded alot worse as everyone came running over. We now use walkie talkies no matter the weather as our primary communication method while backing.
