2008 Senca Stairs Power Supply

Just brought the RV home from winter storage. Our stairs do not have any power. I tested the motor and its operating with an alternative source. Some how its lost its feed. Does the feed come the rear coach battery location or does the feed come from the c5500 chassis? Need to find the source of the power for the stairs.

Thank you
Warren

From the chassis battery. There should be a fuse near the steps, old style glass in a plastic holder.

thanks I tested the glass fuse the 5amp fuse also both tested fine. Now after searching the web, someone else had an issue with their stabilizers not working the same time the steps failed. They indiscated it was the solenoid that failed. Are these in the rear house battery area?

Can't address the solenoid, but look behind the driver's side kick panel there may be a fuse behind it.

Had a similar issue last week... DW opened up the door when there was stuff on the ground under the stairs... they came out partway and jammed - stopped. I had to raise the levelers on the coach to get the stuff un-jammed from the stairs. After that was freed - the stairs were DEAD and would not go anywhere.

I tried the fuses (there were more than one) they were fine. I crawled under and found the harness that seems to come from under the coach - unplugged that and checked all connections. After I finished that - it started working again.

Probably fed from the Chassis battery, I had the same problem when I killed the chassis battery in my Melbourne.

Trouble fixed, verified the chassis battery cables for the fourth time, and found one cable was on the wrong post. I had the positive feed on the negative battery post causing both stairs and levellers inoperable. Very happy again.

Happy camping folks!
